The food has to be good to motivate me to blog about it.
Don and I ate at a new sushi place in Little Rock; Choo Choo Steam. I wanted to eat there a second time before I blogged about it. But the restaurant went out of business! I was so disappointed becasue the sushi on rice was the best I have ever had. I had a salmon, a shrimp, and an ell sushis. It was my first time to try eel and it was very nice. I am looking forward to trying eel again. So we went to Honaro Sushi Bar. The sushi "pretty woman" sushi roll was good.
We have an Italian restaurant Roma in our little town, Searcy The food is okay. I love their red sauce. My friend Alison loves their breat and zitti pasta dish. I usually order the eggplant.
I tried a new dish with some tibidation. The last two new dishes I tried there; the chicken was not throually cooked. I returned the dish and then reordered my usual egg plant. The new dish I tired was Maha Maha. Oh my word! It was wonderful! I hope the restaurant does well. Roma is well worth dining at.

We have all heard how we taste. Tasting occurs on the tongue through the taste buds and by smell through our noses. The taste buds are stimulated by four fundamental taste sensations—sweet, salty, sour, and bitter. I propose a hypothese that we have other places in our mouth that can sence flavors. My hypothosis is that the roof of the mouth and the cheeks can also sence flavors. Have you ever eaten something really sweet or sour and it made your cheeks pucker? Trying putting a food item on the roof or cheek in your mouth and see if you sence flavor or a sentation of taste. Sweet and sours foods seem to have the most response. So next time you stuff your cheeks full of your favorite food it may be becasue it is more than comforting it enhances the flavor experince. Carolaina; 11 March 2008

What is Brushetta Spread? (Monday, March 3, 2008 - 12:00:00 AM)

We recieved a gift of a couple of jars of Harry and David food items. One of the item's was "Brushetta spread". We had to look it up on the internenet just to know what it is and how to prepare it for consumption. It is a nice ethnic Italian tomato based spread eaten with bread and cheese. It is probably a comfort food for those who have grown up with Brushetta. For us it was nice but not something I would make a point to buy. However I will be buying a jar soon and here is why. We were making two pots of chille; one with tomatos and one without. I thougt oh I will dump the Brushetta in the chilli for the tomatos. Oh MY Word; it absolutley makes the chilie wonderful.
My chillie recipe is simple: two pounds of ground meat browned, two packages of Williams chille mix, one can of dark red kiddney beans, small onion diced, dash of salt. Mix ingredents in a crock pot in the moring and cook til supper time. (If i make a pot with tomatoes; I use one can of diced tomatoes or now one jar of Harry and David's Brushetta Spread".

Well I am tired of Lean Cuisines. Lean Cuisines' does have a new meals "Flatbread Melts". The Flatbread Melts are okay. Taste like their Sandwiches just on a little different bread. I did not care for the "Flatbread Melts" too thick bread. The taste was not anyt hing new or different from their Sandwiches.
So in my search for something different to eat I came across some pre-fab meals that are tasty, nutrition and calorie conscious. My pantry is now stocked with Annie chun's Sushi Wraps and Annie Chun's Udon Noodle Soup.
Annie Chun's Sushi Wraps with sticky white rice includes wraps, a recyclable bowl and soy sauce. I ate smoked salmon with the sushi wraps. I enjoy this meal so much that my pantry is now stocked with the rice bowl meals.
I had never had Udon Noodle soup so this was a new taste experience. The soft noodles are wonderful. The ingredients used taste fresh and rich flavored. The company is earth conscious and the bowl is made from mostly corn starch. I wonder how quickly it compost? I will put one in my garden and let you know.

Jessica and I went to the Cooke Basket for lunch this week. They serve a cookie with your meal. They are well known for their Lemon iced, sugar cookies. The recipe is coveted. Jo and I have been hoping to acquire the recipe. Anyway. Jessica and I stopped in at Key Lime Bakery and they had what looked just like Lemon Iced, sugar cookies. So I got the idea that to buy one from each place and we would sample them both and see if they tasted the same.
I expected the cookies would taste very similar.
The cookie from the Cookie Basket was more lemony and soft and did not crumble. The Key Lime Cottage cookie had a hint of lemon and was crumbly ; the cookie tasted like light crumbly pie crust. Jessica liked the KLC cookie while I favored the CB cookie. They were both good.
