kitty painter (Sunday, March 11, 2007 - 12:00:00 AM) [Post a Comment]

I have a painter kitty!!!  I thought Hobs was going to be a painter kitty. He showed interest in painting.  He painted a few post cards with me and even picked out the color he wanted to paint with.  But he soon lost interest and just sits with me while i paint.  HOwever BenJamine has taken a serious interest in painting.  And he is a messy artiest.  He paints the whole kitchen table!!  I Know as you read this  it may seem a bit well .. oh come on a cat that paints?  Truely such does occure.  (There is even a parrot that paints)  Ben does not seem to care what color he paints with and he loves lots of water.  ONe of his painting is having to dry out; i moved it away from the paint bowl.  I also did not leave the paint bowl out today.  When i set up to paint tomorrow i will set the water paint bowl out for him and me.  We both use it.  I use it for my brushes; his brush is his paws. The painting he painted has green and a yellow orcard splashed across it.  I am thinking about a fushia color for the next time he paints on the picture; but it needs to dry out first.  Benjamine dippes he paws in the paint water and then shakes his paw out over the paper after he has done enough on the paper he then walks around on the paper and the table. And interesting note.  He makes such a splattering mess all around the canvus but he does not do this at his drinking water bowl.

knitting (Tuesday, February 27, 2007 - 12:00:00 AM) [Post a Comment]

I knitted years ago.  It amazing me to remember the things i knitted back then.  I knitted a lot of sweeters for my sister and mum.

I am mostly crocheting now but i am doing a little knitting.  I am attempting to learn how to knit "Fan and Feather".  Like I need another porject. I have two shawls going all the time, for a break from crocheting shawls I will make booties or caps; and I try to paint  most days.  I have been painting irises and practicing Sumi-e.  I am also trying to read more.  I am hugry for reading but my eye-brain is still struggling.  I am getting better; it is just slow.  Meanwhile i am happly tooling along finding find happy things to do.

I found the best knitting site and i want to tell everyone about it.  Amy has a great site and she has free little videos of how to knit in Continental and English knitting style.  She also sells books and DVDs.

Go check out Amy's site: )

Origami (Thursday, January 25, 2007 - 12:00:00 AM) [View Comment or Post a Comment]

Origami is something i took up with when I was a teacher  for an inexpensive art project in my class.  I feel in love with origami and have been folding ever since.  When i was in the hospital , in rehab recovering from brain surgery,  I asked Don to bring my origami paper to me; I folded a few cranes and i knew that I was okay.

This week I have been folding cranes , baskets, all kinds of birds.

The flaping cranes i fold flaps wouned.  Even the paper picks up on the wounds.

I have been painting and the brush also tells the story of the AVM.

heart healing needed for a friend (Monday, January 22, 2007 - 12:00:00 AM) [Post a Comment]

I will say before this blog entry that it is made because someone who started the ARTIST WAY, a book with healing activities,  quit.  I am sad for this person and I feel the loss of all that can be gained from the proecess.  But the person does not want to heal.  I do and continue to run in that directions.

I am filled with sadness and i see the far off sky has darkend over there; its shadows make a long shade too near from there to here.
I grieve for both of us, so much will be lost and never known to be found.  I feel my paints in my brain dull and the hope is less in the picture when i painted.  I am lost again struggling to stay found and grounded.  My head and heart pound that is all i can hear.

I have to sort out how to deal with their choise.  I want distance.  With out healing for them they are not safe to stand to close to.  Sigh.

Prayers please that the person will continue the process of healing and run to it.

I am so sad.  I want them to have heart healing.  I love this person dearly deeply.
