I got an early birthday present last night. When I got home, I found that Metroid: Zero Mission (GBA) had arrived! It's like a mix between Fusion and Super Metroid. It seems to use the same game engine used in Fusion, but takes place in a slightly altered Zebes. Just like in Super Metroid, the environments are oddly familiar, yet different. The feeling is even stronger here since it's a remake of the origional game.
Now you know what I'll be playing the next few days. >:)

With this wonderful warm Spring weather coming on, I'm again getting the urge to go camping like I did as a teenager. The only problem is that we have no camping equipment. It can get expensive: tent, sleeping bag, cots, lantern, camp stove--all this and more adds up quickly. Maybe someday we'll be able to afford it... maybe. Then, I'd have to convice Carolaina to go. Her idea of "roughing it" is staying at a hotel. Sorry, didn't mean for this to sound cynical, just wistful.
Did you know it's Ralph Baer's 82nd birthday today? If you don't know who he is, he was responsible for the first home video game system--the Magnavox Odyssey. I consider him to be the true "father of video games". Isn't video game history fascinating?

This weekend, I finally tore myself away from the Atari long enough to get myself back into Grandia II (DC version). I had forgotten how awesome this game is.
The wife and I had a very relaxing weekend. We watched Star Wars: Episodes 4 & 5. >:) Either sometime this week or weekend, we'll watch Return of the Jedi.

I went over to my friend Erastos' place last night. I got him set up with a few games, and always enjoy visiting with him.
It's supposed to storm this afternoon/evening. I do enjoy storms, but with my electronic stuff in the house, I hope it doesn't get too bad. Remember to always unplug everything during a storm.

Ug. It has not been a good night. First off, I feel like I'm starving when I get home and have to wait what seems like forever for my food to cook. Then, Ben (one of our two cats) just won't shut up--he sometimes just gets in fussy moods. And then finally around 8:00, we get a visit from two Arkla employees who tell us they need to shut off our natural gas overnight because the rest of our street has lost theirs. This means no heat overnight and a cold shower in the morning. Ug.
One good thing, though. I just now watched the late news on our local ABC affiliate (Ch. 7). The did a story about eBay auction sniping and they showed me in the story! They interviewed Dallas, our network guy here at Aristotle, about it. They just showed my backside, and since I was wearing black, I suppose I was supposed to be the "evil bad guy" doing the sniping. >:)
UPDATE: I've found that KATV has video of the news story on their website. Check it out! You'll have to click on the "eVideo: Online Sniping" link at the top of the story text. Windows Media Player required, sorry.
