Carolaina and I had a relaxing weekend. We went down to Hot Springs to get me a haircut, get more spring water from HS National Park, and to visit her Dad. Her Dad's place down in Bismark is so peaceful and quiet. It feels like time has no meaning there--like it doesn't matter what day it is.
I've gotten another GBA game--The Lost Vikings. It's a neat combination of a puzzle and platform game and is a direct port of the Sega Genesis version (which was supposedly a version of the arcade game). Some of the levels are really mind-bending, but it makes it that much more satisfying when you do clear those levels.

How about the good news first: Armchair Arcade has released their third issue! I'm a part of that online community and they asked us to spread the word. Check it out!
Now for the bad news: I've been following the continuing story of Marvelous Bob--a super hero story written by a guy named Michael Buonauro. Well, I found out that earlier this week he committed suicide. Such a waste. Did he even think about how that doing so would really hurt his family, friends and Internet fans? Such a sad waste.

We're in the middle of a relaxing three-day weekend. Sometimes it's nice to not have anything to do.
We're thinking about going to a different church. We've visited around and will probably end up going to Four Mile Hill Church of Christ. Carolaina really liked the new West Pleasure C of C just down the street, but I wasn't comfortable there.
Speaking of Carolaina, she's been getting back into Polly Pockets lately. We've been scouring eBay and trying to pick up a few.
I've finishing playing through both GBA Metroid games and don't know what game I want to get into next. My TV has been dying on me for the past few weeks, so I have a hard time trying to play my console systems.

I had an OK weekend. Carolaina has given me a $25 gift certificate from Hastings. I picked up a couple of anime DVDs: Van Helsing: The London Assignment and Cowboy Bebop: The Movie. I was less than impressed with the Van Helsing anime--it was only 45 minutes, the story was rather blah, and the animation itself wasn't that great. Cowboy Bebop, though, is AWESOME! I would say that it's a great movie, period, much less great anime. Highly recommended. I'm now wanting to track down the DVDs for the regular series.
As I mentioned last time, I was rapidly approaching 100% completion rate in Metroid: Zero Mission. I reached that over the weekend and doing so unlocked Hard Mode. >:] During lunch today, I finished playing through the game again in Hard Mode--very tough to do, but extremely satisfying. That unlocked a Sound Test in the Options screen that allows me to listen to music from the game. More games should have such features.

I've gotten back into playing Metroid: Zero Mission. This time I'm chasing down 100% item completion rate--one more energy tank to go and I'll have it! Most of the remaining items weren't as difficult to get as I first thought. The last one, though, is insane. It takes the twitch reflexes of a neurotic Japanese teenager to get.
I came across an interesting article on MSNBC about the new Star Wars movies. You may not agree with everything that is said in the article, but he makes some excellent points. For example: Can you remember any witty quotes or memorable dialog from the new movies? I can't because there wasn't any. More than a dozen come to mind when I think of Episodes 4-6. Episode 2 was only good in parts, but there was hardly any redeeming value to Episode 1.
